Keynote Speaker: Dr. Heather McKay

 

About the Keynote Speaker: Dr. Heather McKay is an award-winning dementia care specialist, occupational therapist and teacher. She brings first-hand family caregiver experience and professional skills to the podium, resulting in a rich learning opportunity for caregivers, friends, professionals and community members. Dr. McKay is a professor at Appalachian State University in Occupational Therapy. Her research includes dementia caregiving strategies.

LOCATION: Burnsville Town Center, 6 South Main St., Burnsville, NC from 10:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

SCHEDULE: Doors Open at 9:00 a.m. Registration and to visit Resource Tables. In addition to Dr. McKay, the program includes a Caregiver Panel - Let's Talk Caregiving.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: The October 30th program is the 4th Annual Dementia Caregivers Workshop presented by Dementia Caregivers & Friends. It is a free program for dementia caregiver families & friends, professionals, and community members in Yancey County (others may also attend as space is available).
