Our regional network of service plays a vital role in the quality of life of older adults of the High Country by providing accessible and affordable community-based support that helps them remain at home and in their community longer.
These services are funded through the Home and Community Care Block Grant (HCCBG) administrated by the NC Division of Aging and Adult Services. Established in 1992 under NCGS 143B-181.1(a) (11) the HCCBG offers a “common funding stream” for a comprehensive and coordinated system of home and community based services for older adults. Learn more about the HCCBG.
Services available through the High Country AAA's partner network include, but are not limited to: general and medical transportation, in-home aide, nutrition services, health promotion, respite, housing and home improvement, adult daycare, information and assistance, insurance counseling, and legal services.
