Falls Prevention grant awarded

The North Carolina Center for Health & Wellness (NCCHW) at UNC Asheville received a 3 year, $600,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to expand access to and utilization of evidence-based falls prevention programs across 18 counties in Western North Carolina.  As part of the grant, the High Country Area Agency on Aging will work with UNC-A and Mission Health Partners to expand community based falls prevention classes and promote medical referrals throughout the western North Carolina region.  To learn more visit: HealthyAgingNC.com or contact Nicole Hiegl at nhiegl@regiond.org.
